Do you run a Social Enterprise in Shropshire?

NetworkingIf so, you’ll want to know about this…

Last month saw the launch of Venture, Shropshire’s Social Enterprise Network. This proved to be an inspiring and well attended meeting of around 35 social enterprise organisations.

Huge thanks go to Jim Hawkins who brought his fabulous personality, empathy and humour to hosting the event as well as Charlotte Hollins of Ford Hall Farm who shared with us the incredibly inspiring story of how the Ford Hall Farm Community Land Initiative was born.

Many thanks also to Nicky Kent of  the Community Council of Shropshire and the ‘Growing SE in West Midlands Project’,  for providing the funding for the launch event.

This month’s event takes place on Wednesday 12 October from 6-8pm at The Atcham Memorial Hall in Shrewsbury and booking is here: Venture Booking

A popular request for support from last month’s meeting was presentation skills training and we are pleased to announce that Lesley Long of Go Wild for a Change has agreed to share her considerable expertise with us.

Lesley’s background is that she ran a management training and personal development consultancy from 1984-2002 delivering presentation skills, communication skills, assertiveness, management skills, leadership, teamwork and customer excellent to both the private and public sector. She delivered bespoke programmes to conferences, small groups as well as 1-2-1 coaching.

She then decided to retrain and use the outdoor environment to deliver these skills using the natural environment and so Go Wild was born….

Lesley’s social enterprise company creates personal development breaks for women to learn to survive and thrive. She helps clients who’ve experienced setbacks or who are ready to make changes in their personal lives: reclaim their self esteem, develop self-confidence and fulfill their personal potential. Clients take away powerful, practical and positive problem solving tools to empower them to lead successful and rewarding lives and design the future they want for themselves.

Lesley is effervescent and enthusiastic and is an inspiring speaker so if you haven’t heard her before; you’re in for a treat. She absolutely loves helping other people learn these skills.

We hope to see you there for what promises to be another very inspiring evening!
